AFTER SCHOOL GRANDS |
|
|
|
AFTER SCHOOL GRANDS is a valuable component of the Foster Grandparent Program of Central Florida. Through partnerships with youth organizations throughout the community, the program is able to place Foster Grandparents with youth who have been identified to possess special and/or exceptional needs in After-School Programs. Some of the children with whom Foster Grandparents volunteer are at risk for truancy, delinquency, drug use, and/or dropping out of school. Drawing on their own life experience, Foster Grandparents are able to mentor these children, encouraging them to make positive life decisions. |
