On April 26, 2002, the Foster Grandparent Program of
Central Florida was honored by LYNX, the regional transportation agency of Central Florida, as one of fifteen non-profit agencies to be included on a promotional bus presented in recognition of National Volunteers Week. Lynx received over 150 applications for the 2002 Bus Promo from an array of non-profit organizations and government agencies.
At the Bus' inaugural ceremony, Advisory Council
Chairperson, Oree Johnson, accepted this special honor on behalf of the program. Several Foster Grandparents and staff were also present.
