The Foster Grandparent Program

An intergenerational initiative that gives foster grandparent volunteers the opportunity to share a lifetime of experience with today's children and youth while remaining active in the community.

The Foster Grandparent Program began its legacy in 1972 and serves Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Volusia, and Flagler Counties. Foster Grandparent volunteers extend their love and wisdom, and devote time and attention to nurture an infant, a child, or a teenager who otherwise might not receive heartfelt sharing and caring.

The lives of countless youngsters have been enriched beyond measure as the grandparent volunteers lend a helping hand to foster character development, cultivate life skillfulness, promote educational growth and hearten an overall sense of well being.

And remember: When you volunteer, you're not just helping others-you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.
